It was such a simple commandment. Well, I had thought it would have been a simple ask, to love me, but it was not. He winced under my every touch, even if it were an unintentional brush across the shoulder; my smiles for him he would meet met with expressions of hostile fury, eyes burning with such loathe that it seemed to seep through my skin and pierce my heart. Naturally, I’d surrendered all attempts for him to love me after enough –too much- time had passed.
